Nativity Scene

Growing up my family always acted out the Nativity story Christmas Eve and this is a tradition we have continued when any of us can get together. Its fun to see how excited the kids get to dress up and how well they remember the details of the story after taking part. Here's a group shot of most of the cast this year . Sabrina is Mary, Andrew is Joseph, Eden is the angel, Anson is a shepherd, Joslyn is a wisewoman, and James is the donkey (he got so excited about being a donkey when I was offering suggestions, what else could I do).

Andrew is such a blanket snuggler and he loved having his favorite blanket tied to him as his costume. We couldn't get him to keep anything on his head so he simply did a cameo of Joseph and the coat of many colors.

A side shot of the donkey so you can see his tail.

Though not too keen on joining the group picture, I did get this shot of Erin as "the new star". I thought she was too cute. Bo and Blake managed to elude my camera entirely but they were a shepherd and drummer boy respectively. I have to briefly make mention of the feast that preceded our Nativity Scene. We thought we'd just do appetizers and fondue instead of a big fancy dinner, but we ended up with a spread that could feed an army. So delicioso! Though hard to beat, even better than all the good food was the chance we all had to talk to Elder and Sister Bishop on what was their Christmas morning. Last Christmas in Kenya!
