Thankfully the boys didn't get up too early Christmas morning. It took us several hours to figure out how to put James' train set together which resulted in Mom & Dad having a late night. I got the train set at a yard sale during the summer so no picture on the box to guide us...purely, Boyd's gumption. Your probably thinking, "How hard is it to connect a few tracks together?", but trust me, it's more complicated than it looks. For some reason we didn't get too many photos of the kids opening presents, but here's one of James' reaction waking up Christmas morning.
Not exactly the squeals of excitement we were looking for, but he warmed up to it all pretty fast. We let the boys play with the train set and Andrew's rocking horse
(hand crafted by Dad) while I made breakfast.

We bought geo trax for our boys too, and we got them on Craigs list so we also didn't have any directions for building a track. So our Christmas Eve was spent the same as yours. However, you can search for pictures of tracks on google and then copy what others have done. Good luck.
Wow that is a really cool horse the boys got from their dad? What tools did he use? Way to go Boyd, that is the coolest present ever!
I am really impressed with the rocking horse. Tell James I think he looked like the best donkey ever to sport a tail.
We used to drag Christmas out by opening one present ever half hour. It seems a shame to spend all that money and have it all done in 15 minutes.
Love ya,
Nana
Do you think maybe I can have a turn on the horse the next time I'm around?
